DESCRIPTION:

WELD METAL 7018 is a basic-coated iron powder with low hydrogen electrodes, specially designed for welding medium-high-tensile steels with RADIOGRAPHIC quality welds. Weld metal recovery is at least 110%. Weld metal has excellent ductility and notch toughness down to minus 30°C, which is the greater and special characteristic of WELD METAL 7018 electrodes. The typical hydrogen content is 5 ml/100 grams to save the weld metal from cracking and provide good strength for the job.

APPLICATIONS:

WELD METAL 7018: It is best to weld the following: storage tanks, blast furnace shells, pressure vessels, railway wagons, penstock, pipe lines, boilers, dynamic loading structures, hardenable low alloy steel, equipment subjected to high stress and dynamic loading, equipment that requires impact at minus -45°C, thick and heavy plates of carbon and high tensile steels.

RECOMMENDATIONS:

To obtain the best result, use welding current within the recommended range, RE-DRY the electrodes at 350°C for one hour or at 250°C for two hours, use directly from the oven, store the electrodes in Dry Place.
