WELD METAL-CAST IRON NM (Non Machineable)

CAST IRON ELECTRODES
WELD METAL-CAST IRON NM (Non Machineable)
DESCRIPTION:

WELD METAL-CAST IRON NM is a medium-heavy-coated graphite-based electrode that produces non-machinable welds on cast iron. It is ideally suited for welding cast iron and cast steels themselves and joining cast steel to mild steel and low alloy steels. The weld displays good abrasion resistance.

APPLICATIONS:

WELD METAL-CAST IRON NM is lightly suitable for welding of cast iron, cast iron machine parts, cast iron machine equipment, and all types of general reclamation or repair works where the machinability of the weld is not essential.

RECOMMENDATIONS:

The temperature of the job should remain constant until welding is completed. Intermediate cooling must be avoided. Cool the welded piece under insulation with a very slow cooling rate. Select the smallest size of the electrodes. Deposit a thin layer to avoid peening the weld bead worm.
